I Caught My Wife Cheating – What Should My Next Move Be?

I caught my wife cheating. I don’t know where to turn or what to do next. Sound familiar? Unfortunately, it’s not all that uncommon of an occurrence. Many men never even entertain the thought that their wife could cheat on them until she starts showing signs that she is, in fact, cheating on them.

What do you really have to do after you caught your wife cheating? Tons of ideas spun around your head – from your friends, from your families, from the internet advice, etc. So, which ones will you consider and hopefully will ease your pain?

Here are just a few of the options you may want to consider.

1) Set her free. When you are left with no choice (actually there are more) you begin to sizzle with the safe idea of letting her go. It is the first thing that comes to mind when you are emotionally weighed down. The depressing part is that you instantly stop a rushing pain, and what you didn’t know is that you can stop it for a while but you can’t hold it too long. There will come a time that you will just burst everything out.

2) Forgive her and find a way to make your marriage work. This is another solution that is right for some but not right for all. You will have to work it out within yourself to figure out which is the best choice for you. Just remember that you are the one who will have to live with your decision and it should be you, and you alone, that makes the decision.

3) Separate in order to gain perspective. Not everyone is willing, or even ready, to make a decision at an emotionally charged time like this. If you fall into this category the best decision, for the moment, may very well be no decision. You can decide to take a break in order to take stock and see if you can both figure out what it is that you really want.

4) Cross your fingers. You can never move mountains, unless you don’t have the faith like that of a mustard seed. It’s small but it grows to be the biggest among the tress in the forest. Lying down and just pretending you don’t know that she is cheating is another surefire way to end the marriage. Are you afraid to lose him? Conversely, aren’t you going to be much more afraid of the damage it brings to your family? Happy marriage can’t be achieved or cheating won’t go away by itself.

5) Bury the Hatchet – Forgive and Forget. So far, this is the best choice among couples who had experienced an infidelity issue in their relationship. They believe on second chances and so gave love another opportunity. Starting over means dealing with the cheating issue, forgiving the cheating partner and moving on with the lessons learned from the marital problem encountered.
